BAPHR Foundation Grants
BAPHR Foundation awards grants to not-for-profit agencies serving the nine counties of the San Francisco Bay Area during annual grant cycles. Since 1986, we have donated over $2.5 million to agencies with a demonstrated commitment to LGBTQ+ health and wellness.
BAPHR Foundation was established with a steadfast commitment to advancing health and healthcare equity for the LGBTQ+ community in the Bay Area. In keeping with this vision, the BAPHR Board seeks to support a broad range of organizations working across the full spectrum of LGBTQ+ communities, identities, needs, and settings throughout the Bay Area.
This year, our focus remains on those who are most vulnerable among us, including LGBTQ+ adolescents, seniors, individuals navigating legal or immigration-related challenges, and those experiencing mental health, addiction, or substance use concerns. We also welcome applications that address emerging or persistent gaps in LGBTQ+ health and wellness, particularly for communities facing barriers to safety, access, stability, and affirming care.
In our ongoing dedication to the LGBTQ+ community, BAPHR Foundation anticipates awarding grants ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 to nonprofit agencies working to enhance the health and wellness of LGBTQ+ individuals. The selection process is competitive, with applications reviewed by the BAPHR Board. We anticipate announcing grant recipients in early September 2026.
BAPHR Foundation does not fund capital campaigns, laboratory research or individual medical expenses. Up to 15% of awarded grant monies can be applied to administrative costs including salaries, rent, utilities and insurance. Grant applications are judged based on merits including potential to achieve LGBTQ+ health goals.

Eligibility Criteria
Grant applicants must:
- Be a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency.
- Propose funding for a project, program, or service that directly contributes to the health and wellness of the LGBTQ+ community.
- Be located within one or more of the nine counties of the San Francisco Bay Area or demonstrate that 100% of the requested BAPHR Foundation grant funds will directly benefit individuals who reside in the nine Bay Area counties.
- Use awarded funds only for activities that benefit LGBTQ+ health and wellness. BAPHR Foundation does not fund capital campaigns, laboratory research, or individual medical expenses.
- Allocate no more than 15% of awarded grant funds to administrative costs, including salaries, rent, utilities, insurance, or other general operating expenses.
- The application deadline is September 4th, 2026 at 6pm
